Originally posted by: GreenBeast Pretty good without the airbox lid, helps a little. I rode in a lot of dust a couple weeks ago and it didn't get very dirty. Also pulled out the spark arrestor, that opens it up a whole lot. Once you pull it out and see what it looks like you'll know why. It's very restrictive.
Haven't heard much from you as far as reports on your 700R, I was really enjoying those. Mine is still sitting in the garage covered up with it's nice white soft blanket, have had it out in the cul-de-sac for a couple passes but that's it, two weeks of ownership and no ride, I should be ashamed of myself

I had mine out at Pismo this weekend.
I'm still recovering from an injury so I couldn't ride too hard, but I also spent more time on the seat than usual, so I have to say that the suspension is pretty sweet. Power is awesome, no problems with any of the hills. I'd cruise up to the base, slowing down and let the Raptor just power its way up. No sweat. I did get a little stumble at idle when cold, but I'm pretty sure that was the fuel injection compensating for the cold motor with an over-rich startup. It stopped once the engine was warm. Another big difference is the throttle. Much faster response than my 660. That's going to take some getting used to.
I also had to change my loading scenario. The new Raptor is definately wide than my old one, especially with paddles, so I had to change things around to fit it in my trailer. Nothing big, but something to keep in mind.
