686/690 are the same thing, just called different.

Look into a craycraft, kenz or sparks.

you can make around 70+hp on a well built 686/690

The whole thing...The cam will make the difference. I pull 60 h.p. with a stage 2 hotcam and a low compression piston...10.75 to 1. and I also use 87 octane . You could get a higher number if you used a 11 or 12 to 1 piston, high octane fuel, balanced crank with a new light weight rod, 102 mm bore and a good port and polish. There are a few other little things like valve work, springs, teflon or ceramic coatings for heat distribution and longevity of the motor, carb rework or a new set of FCR's. JMO. Trinity to me does not play the speed game as well as Craycraft, Kenz or Sparks. Those would be my top three picks. Either one will answer all the questions you have.Videos of my quad in action...from stock to a 686.Nuthin fancy.

70hp is easily achievale on a well built...key word here is a well built 686.

massive porting,
686 bore
lightweight rod
balanced crank
FCR's carbs
huge drag cam
and correct exhaust

mrhp makes 70hp on his stock bore ds650
and kenz is around 67 on his stock bore raptor...

You have to remember MrHP nor Kenz got those numbers by not running 87 octane pump gas.... Lots of funny fuels....

vp110, i dont care what gas they run and long as they get those numbers on GAS, it might not be from the pump, but it sure aint running those numbers on ethanol, methanol or nitro.

Ernie @ 4SW-4 MrHP took 1st place in 500cc above stock bore with race gas only. MrHP took 2nd place in the builders class with his stock bore 650 motor on race gas. GP racing took 1st place builders class with the big bore stroker 780 raptor. MrHP's stock bore DS is putting out about 78HP on race gas. It's not pump gas but not funny fuels, just race gas. The other HPR bike take 2nd in the open 500cc above class on race gas only.
