UPDATE!!! Raptor wont rev
#1
Couldnt ride this weekend because of this. When the bike is in neutral, it revs perfectly, but once I put it in gear it wont rev past 1/4 throttle at most. I already got rid of the e-brake and connected the two wire behind the radiator and left the other conector unpluged. I cant figure out what the hell is wrong with this thing. I did a search and saw that it might be the reverse rev limiter? Gas is good, carb boots are fine, already swapped the CDI, coil/wire, changed plug, voltage regulator, and battery with my bro's 05 and it still does this. Anyone ever had something like this happen? No mods have been made since the last time I rode it. Help please!

If the reverse light comes on when you put it in reveres then I wouldn't think it's the limiter and since it revs fine in nuetral I don't think it's the e-brake. My guess is that it's a problem with the carbs. Has it sat for a little while since you last rode it.

a week maybe. If it revs fine in neutral, why would it be something in the carbs? I didnt pay attention to the reverse light coming on or not. I was so upset, we drove like 30 minutes to do some night riding and I couldnt even ride.

I'll dig into the carbs them. Ive been running your intake without any problems for a while now, dont know what this could be. Long time ago I did have a torn diaphram in one of the carbs when it was jetted at the dealer, but I replaced it ASAP. I'll probably pull the carbs, tank and intake off and clean everything. Fuel lines looked good to btw, took the gas cap off and it did the same thing still. I might try swapping the carbs too. Thanks for the input!

UPDATE!
It was the reverse limiter! I grounded the green/white wire and it works now. How can I "fix" this? Does the CDI think its in reverse and kicks in the limiter? If its time to adjust the cable, I'll just buy the Dr.D lever and junk the old one.
