the amount listed for a 686 wont get you to 70hp on that kinda of cash. that will get you anywhere from 55-65hp depending on the builder, and the dyno. although they do make about 70hp raptor and ds on stock bore, you have to understand it requires a lot more cash to get to that level.

in order to get that kinda power out of a 686

you need to spend about double for the port and polish $800
You'll have to switch to a bigger cam. like the X-4 or the craycraft drag cam(only available to craycraft customer) Its around $250 i think....
+1mm Valves $??
high compression piston running on vp110 or equivilant
FCR carbs, around $900
new dyna ignition $400 or so?
barker exhaust $700 i think?

the $2100 for the 686 will get you a well built 686 low compression pump gas cruiser that make a lot more power than stock. in order to get into the 70hp on the 686 you need to pretty much make you raptor a full on drag bike, cuz is going to cost a lot more, and a lot mroe to maintain.

Craycraft's Signature 686 kit will put a hurting on 99% of the pump gas big bores. There isn't a tremendous difference in HP between a low comp big bore and a high comp 686. There are a couple of options I'd add the the basic package (carb mod, clutch) but Bob's Signature 686 kit is tried and true. It's the same 686 package that won the dyno shootout at FSW2 with 67 HP (on a generous dyno). I ran one for an amateur MX season and could reel in YFZs at will in 3rd gear. YFZs were faster in the turns but my 686 was faster everywhere else. In the open MX class (above 450 cc), only a built Banshee could get away from me on the straights and hills. I made the mistake of thinking that more power could get me around the MX track faster so I had Craycraft build me a high comp big bore over the winter. It had waay too much power for MX, now I drag race.

so liek ubetrun says, he pump gasser pushs 63 to 67hp depending on the dyno. In order to get in the 70 range you did to go with the mods listed above, i dont care if its a kenz to a craycraft, ou need to run a high comp set-up with big cams and massive porting.

also note.

craycraft 686 won fsws2 back in 2003

who won FSWS3
and FSWS4 from 2004 and 2005?????

After FSW2, the Craycraft crowd figured out that the races were a joke. In fact, they were such a sham that this site won't allow the event to be promoted here. Recent events at Glamis indicate that nothing has changed.

Feel free to race yourselves and call each other fast
