grizzly owners: got a few questions
#1
my buddy has a polaris right now, which is a piece and he wants to get rid of it. the problem he's having is deciding between a 660 grizzly, a polaris 500 h.o. or a honda foreman 500. he likes the honda because of the manual transmission. the wheeler he has now is an expedition, and he wants another one where he can decide what gear he wants. i cant really give him any advice about an auto compared to a manual because all i've ever owned is yamaha sport quads. he's affraid that if he gets a belt driven automatic, water will get in there and cause the belt to slip. i've been trying to assure him the the belt drive system has come a long way since the early days of polaris where if you sweat wrong, the belt would slip. any input you guys could give, for or against a grizzly or either of the other two i mentioned, would be greatly appreciated.

hey,
I was leary of an auto transmission as well but I love my grizz...has never let me down. I've had it in mud and water past the headlights and have never had belt slippage or any other problems. I'm sure a bunch of other grizzly owners will tell you that they were deaper and had no problems.
Can't go wrong with a Grizzly!

As far as I know,my dad has never had the belt slip on his grizzly.I've had my wife's 500 scrambler's belt slip after I washed it.I've rode my dad's grizzly some, and I don't see how you could ask for a better quad.Sure it's not as fast as the brute force, but when he raced one with his' grizzly he didn't lose no where near as bad as I thought he would. That Grizzly rides like a dream too.Plenty of power. The 660 Grizzly is an excellent choice!!!!

i absolutely love my grizzly and would not change it for any other ute on the market. i kno that there are other utes that are faster and all..... but none of them ride as smooth and nice as the grizz imo. ive been in water so deep that u could only see the handlebars stickin out and i got out and had no belt slippage. i have no problems at all with it and its a great machine. thats just my 2 cents.

I like the scrambler, but you are right. It's no where near as good a quad as the Grizzly as far as I'm concerned. But then again the price is a little different too.Oh,well.Just tell him to quit stalling and go get a Grizzly.
