Please excuse me.I shoulda said from my experience.I run 22 inch sandstar rears and they really slingshot me outa the hole.I usually lose to: piped YFZs w/haulers, piped 450rs w/extended swingarms&haulers,Banshees w/pipes, DS650s with pipes and haulers and raptors w/ motor work and haulers. If you take away any of theese variables,I'll usually win tho.Now on dirt,a piped predator will stay right beside me,and I believe they run the same as a Raptor on flat ground. But I do have more than just a pipe and filter.
my stock rappy never lost a sand drag to a stock V (buddies)

main problem was the V getting traction

we both had stock tires in ashen sand at moses lake

v-s are prtty cool. ive seen one with a clutch kit and it was fast.... faster than the raptor it was racing, they both had exhaust, jets, and air filters. then a 450r raced the v and killed it, the guy said it was piped, jetted, air filter, different sprockets, sand tires, 2+ a arims, and rear axle. these races were in sand.

I think I got it figgered out.In deep, soft sand there is o whole lotta drag, right.Well when you release the gas to shiff, even for a split second, you lose alot more momentum than on a hard surface.Do it like 5 times and it adds up!Correct me if I am wrong.

My V seems to run with pretty much anything out there..... But, when it was stock and with bolt ons it would loose to some of the faster YFZ's and 450r's. When it was bone stock I would loose to my buddies bone stock Rappy when we got to about 30 mph or so. The stock V seems to hit a wall around that speed. A clutch kit fixes that. Now, I have no problem. As far as a z400 beating one, nope. I won both and the 400 won't run with a V mod for mod. I have a riding trip planned with two buddies that have Trinity built 686's. I will try and get the races on video so you all can see what a properly set up V is capable of.

Like I said before, it's all about rider ability, I've raced the same person 15 or 20 times in sand, he had a stock raptor with Haulers 22", I had stock V Force with Sand Stars 22", I beat him off the line everytime and he never caught me, he is my friend and one of my riding partners, I may just be a better drag racer than him I guess, who knows, I just know what happens when I race him.

Hey maybe its those sand stars. They spin a bit at takeoff but after that they seem to provide perfect traction,at least on the V.They seem to work better on the V for some reason?Dunno
