All this talk about fast cars has me thinking back to my high-school days when a friend of mine purchased a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 with a 4 speed. That car was stock and he would take it to the old Lakeland drag strip in Memphis TN where he ran the quarter mile in the low 12s.
Man that car was fast.
Ahh...the old muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70's. My cousin still has his 70 Dodge Challenger with a 440 6-pack. Another fast car.

 

Its all about how much money you put in to your car. So it is possible but, An 86 civic stock for stock aganist a 5.0 Mustang will get smoked.

I seen that whole movie, it was about sport compact cars. They had a few other quads out there that night as well. It was a alright movie, but it was based mostly in Europe.

ultimateAussie.. i dont know what kind of mustangs you got up their, maybee all the old women are driving V6 ones. You have to realize, a STOCK mustang GT (05) is as fast as a STOCK Camaro SS, and beats a STOCK Z28.. Also, the STOCK mustang Cobra makes 390 HP. a STOCK Camaro SS makes 320. Not respecatble????? wtf. your nuts dude, truely.. the mustang Cobra's blow away all the F-bodies, including the WS6 and SS's... and yes, STOCK.

 

The Camaro and firebird will return in the next few years with some new weapons to answer the new mustang. The SS and Ws6 are rated at 325 hp and 350 lb ft of torque, the 05 GT is 300hp 315 lb ft of torque. So Gm still has a little bit of an edge over Ford. I think the horsepower numbers for the fucture Camaro and Firebird are going to upwards of 350 horse.

 

If you want to debate Mustang vs. Camaro, try to buy an 05 Camaro.
