I haven't been pulled over yet (knock on wood), but I own a cobra XRS 9300. Features include: IntelliMute (Program radar detecter with the engine rev'ed up 500 rpms over idle; will driving once below this point will not beep; I broke my last one b/c it wouldn't shut up), Strobe Alert (Warns of emergency vehicles), LaserEye (360º Detection), 11 band (5 Radar signals, 4 Laser Signals, 2 Safety Systems). Very nice radar detecter in my opinion. Any K40 system is going to be nice, pricey but nice. I am not sure, but I believe this company advertises that they will pay for the ticket if you get one??? If you got the money I'd go for a K40. Mine sold for $140.00 here. Lowest K40 I have seen was $400.00.

Thats my .02

If you can afford to blow that kind of money on your car, you can afford to blow a little on a good radar detector. IMO there are only 2, the Escort Passport 8500 (corded model is better) and the Valentine one.

i have a cheapy. it has 360 degree detection, laser, K and some other band.it cost me $20 NEW!! i like to use fixed up Audis for bait, and the detector is a great back up. thing with the laser is, they pick you up way before you can spike the brakes, so yer already toast.
