If they weren't phasing out 2-strokes, I would totally agree with you. That would be the purpose of the tests. To show how bad (bad good, not bad bad) the 2-strokes were.

it would, but then if ya thought hard about it, its Dirt Wheels were talking about here, think there going to give an honest opintion in the first place?

There is more than who is just the fastest in a straight line,Over a long distance the ergos and handling of the 700 would probably make it a faster ride. The yfz is a great machine, but so is the 700 either way it is a good time to choose. I wouldn't want to ride a YFZ @ 12000 ft in the tight nasty mountains here, then again i wouldnt want to MX a 700.

If you want the fastest buy a older banshee and do a little work and you will beat most 4 strokes.

You really can't go wrong with either one. Sit on them both and see which one makes you happy. If you are lucky enough to have a friend who has either, ride it. Good luck.

I raced a 700 with my 04 YFZ and didnt have any trouble at all beating it. WE raced 6 times 2 of them were up a small sand hill and 4 were down a short gravel road. The race was about 200 yards long. I even have the stock rear tires that are in very bad shape. That is not to say the 700 would not have cought up and passed on top end. I do run a 15 tooth front sprocket for more top speed, The GYTR air filter and no cover, cam mod and sparky out of stock pipe. So My YFZ is not stock, I have put about $45 into it.
