my raptor 660r runs funny it will idle all day but when i give it gas it will bog out and act like it wants to die but snaps back really quick. I want to check the needles in carbs are off so one is running a little leaner i want to find out where the pins are at so i can check them where are they?

 

nobody knows how to sync up the carbs on a raptor 660r???

 

Sounds like your parking brake mechinism went bad, Welcome to the club! When the parking brake goes bad, it will limit the bike to 1400rpm, its like a rev-limiter, it will sound like the bike is "missing". search " Parking Brake" you will get tons of threads that will show you how to remove it. Good luck! ben

 

First thing I'd do is check & adjust the A/F mixture screws on the bottom of the carbs. It sounds like you have a lean bog off idle. if your all stock you don't need to mess with the needle position. What mods if any do you have done? Where are you on your jetting right now or is it stock? We need more info on your machine to try and help you out.

 

I dont have this problem all the time some days it will run right and somedays not some days the problem goes in and out i dont kno what kind of engine mods are on it i bought it used and diddnt even bother to ask hope this will help thanx

There is no need to sync the carbs on a single cyl.
It sounds like you you may have some crud floating around in one or both of your carbs or possibly your having a problem with the rev limiter but that will pop and miss alot more than bog.

 

check ur parking brake. I had the same problem on my warrior.. and that was because the parking brake was stuck.
