Default Header wrap on a quad?

Anyone ever run automotive header wrap on a quad or bike? The kind that is supposed to help keep heat in the exhaust and not on your leg?

It does work and you can put it on your quads pipe. If you look in my pictues, you will see my Harley has Thermo-Tec heat wrap on the exhaust. I initially bought it because I cracked my RB Racing pipe and wanted to cover where I welded it. I was pleasantly suprised that the pipe was much cooler in that area. According to Thermo-Tec the heat wrap is supposed to help HP.

I used it on my 450 and it helps out big time. I was able to ride all weekend in shorts.

Awesome! I want to keep my stock head pipe for now and that seemed like a worth while addition. My head pipe is looking pretty bad and couldn't look any worse with this on there. I went ahead and ordered some wrap in the black color.

You think your header looks bad now? Wait until you hit a couple of mud holes and the mud / debris get baked into the header wrap.

Does the Thermo-Tec stuff come with the metal ties to hold the wrap on?

I used the black stuff and ordered it from Summit racing. It did not come with ties, so I used S>S. hose clamps to hold it on. Works good and still looks ok. The heat shield covers most of it up. I went from the head to the muffler.

Thats what i planned on doing...ordered it from Summit and everything. There was no way i was paying like 10 bucks for 4 stupid little metal ties when i can get a couple hose clamps and just hide them somewhat.
