Default Big Bore for Raptor!

I am wanting to get a 686 Kit for my Raptor. What all comes with the kit and what would I have to take and get done at a machine shop that I couldn't do myself? Probably get a stage 1 cam and springs. Do I have a choice for which piston and compression ratio? What special tools will I need? Thx can't wait to get it ordered and started.

A kit SHOULD come with a piston and piston accessories, cylinder base gasket, head gasket and copper washers. You will need to take the new piston and the cylinder to a machine shop and have them bore the cylinder to the appropriate size. With a stage 1 HC you dont need new valve springs. If your raptor is 2yrs or older I would get new intake/exhaust valves and new seals as well. Go with a Wiseco 11:1. You will need a torque wrench, service manual, and some assorted sockets and LOTS of patience. I did the install on my raptor and its been whooping *** for 2yrs now, still on stock bore! Good luck!

Seriously consider the stage 2, the raptor has so much low end anyway. I got talked into a stage 2, and am extremely glad I went that way. Remember with the 11:1 you will probably want to raise the octane to avoid detonation, I run half 91, half 110.
