Grizzly with no punch!!!!!
#1
I own a 2005 grizzly. I put on the 26 inch mudlite tires and C 5 wheels. I totally lost all my low end and mid range punch. I even installed an EPI oversized tire clutch kit and it didn't do a thing. Any reccomendations?

I felt some loss with the 27in mudlites.. Not enough to worry about for me. If you want more power, rejet the carb, new cdi, big bore. Large bucks for that though.
I hear the carb re-jet does a good job for around 200 bucks installed.
Also the Yama mech I talk to says he can tinker with the stock carb and get a little more out of it.

"Power Kit" I think would be the carb and cdi modification. Changing the bore is a different ball game. Do you want alot of power or to ride your bike problem free for years. Too much power and you will be replacing CV's and belts often. And possible over heating problems.
And you say "I totally lost all my low end and mid range punch."
Its hard to believe the tire size caused it, unless there are other problems.

is your grizzly clutched ? When you say you only lost 5 mph on top end, what are you topping out at?
Mine didnt really want to go very much faster once I hit 54 or 55. I went approx 2/10ths of a mile more and was only able to get it up to 58 mph.
thanks

I ran 59 max with the 27s. On the speedo and GPS.
A 4-wheeler doesn't need to go any faster in my opinion.
Speed kills. One little uh-oh and your road-kill.
I very rarely get over 40, I guess I'm gettin slower with age.
My next move is a "Hover-round" Ha

mine tops out at 58 now. it used to top out at 63-65,but it takes a while to get there. right now it tops out like yours, 55 then after a while 59. and no, it's not clutched. i'm very intrested in what it could do with a clutch kit though. if i get one i'll let you know
