Default 700R race quad?

Hey guys Im new to the forum. Ive had my buddys raptor 350 at the house for a while and im pretty comfortable on it now. I have also ridden the 660 and 450 recently and I really want to buy a 700r. If I were to get into racing in the future could the 700 be a decent race quad with few modifications or is it strickly for trails and dunes. Im not sure if I will ever race but I want to know that I can if I decided to.

Yes you could easily get away racing it as long as long as you got a few $$$ The 700r is alot more stable than the 660r. If you wanted to take up racing but not super seriously then all you would really need is some new rubber, nerfs, killswitch, bars, and your good to go. If you want to go more serious then you could pipe it, cam, wider axle, long travel a-arms and suspension etc.

Most of those things I would like to eventually get anyway but I guess I need to worry about getting the quad first. I tried geting a 350 about 6 months ago and they didnt aprove so it still might be a couple months until I can get one.

Im 20 and I work full time as a firefighter, i think they didnt aprove of me because I only had my job at the time for 3 months and i had a truck payment. Now Ive been working for almost a year and I have no more truck payment.

how much can you afford to put down? Also having the truck payment probably helped you credit allot unless u didnt pay.

also the raptor 700 is a awesome bike, and im sure could be turned into a good racer, time will tell

The 700R uses a lot of YFZ suspension parts, so Id say you could make it a very competent big-bore race quad.

I hate to tell you but credit approval on a Fourwheeler, bike, jet ski or anything of that nature is a lot tougher than a car because it is classified as a "luxury item" in other words, not a need!! I was in your same position and my credit wouldnt go through but my mom had a maximum limit of 15,000. If I were you I would try again when you are ready....but be prepared to drop about 2-3,000 on it. Also.....a good thing about "luxury items" is when they do get paid off (if you pay it off early) it will BOOST your credit big time. I will be paying this 4 year note off in 18 months. That is the best way to go. Get there minimum plan which is like 39.00 a month at 4.9% or something like that and then pay HUGE payments on it. My min. is 39 and I pay 350. But then again.... you have to have awesome credit to get that deal. All you can do is try....all they can say is no and then you try again.

I guess Im gunna at least go look at the 700r next week. The dealer near my house has one of the white and siver ones in. I will prolly end up trying to buy it after I sit on it. Would it help at all if I put about 1000 down or is that even a substantial amount. Also they are selling at the MSRP price + sales tax and all the other bullshi!, is this a rip off or is that what they are all going for.
