Kodiak - electric start doesn't work - need help
#1
I am having an intermitent problem on my 2005 Kodiak 450. Sometimes when I hit the start button I hear a POP near the rear - I think from under the seat. The display and lights go out and nothing works. I can then start it with the manul pull starter and everything works fine. Sometimes it will then start with the electric start and sometimes it won't. When I turn the key on, if the display comes on it will either start or pop. But sometimes the display won't even come on.
Any clues on what my problem is? Do I have a short somewhere? Is the starter relay blown? Bad battery (it is only 6 months old)?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like the problem I had in the car before. It was a bad connection with the terminals on the battery. Try to take the terminals off the battery and clean the terminals with baking soda and water and then apply petrollium jelly to the termals and retighten the terminal down on the battery post. Worth a shot but could be something that simple. If that doesn't work try a new battery from a car or something.
