Default 02 raptor 660 won't revv

I just got an 02 raptor. It starts up fine and idles perfect but when I go to rev it up, it wants to stall out and not rev up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem is?

Thank you in advance,
Kory

remove the rev limiters in the handlebars one by one until you find the sensor thats not letting your quad rev if that doesnt work, ground the reverse rev limiter thats somewhere around the shifter.

Ummmm, dont do anything to the handlebars. If you were messin with the park brake it may be stuck a little bit.Push the park brake the rest of the way out, because there is a park brake limiter on it, and it will not rev past 2000 rpms or somethin like that.Just try it, it is probably the problem.

Is your reverse light flickering while you are in neutral?? If so then you have a bad reverse switch. I quick fix is to go too ground with the wire connected at the switch...

Your 660 is equipped with twin Mikuni BSR CV carbs. They work ok, but it doesn't take much to screw up their circuit. On your carburetors, the throttle cable actuates a butterfly valve and, as the throttle is opened, the air pressure difference between the sealed chamber above the vacuum slide and inside the carburetor venturi forces the slide (located in front of the butterfly valve) up and down. This will be a factor at idle, only when you press the thumb throttle. See if either of the hoses connected from the top of the carbs to the intake manifold have come disconnected or are blocked. They are not clamped, so one or both may have issues. Good luck.

Correction, I meant to type that the venturi IS NOT a factor at idle, it only comes into play when you hit the throttle. Good luck again.
