Somebody told me that methanol is alot cheaper that race fuel, is that true, and what would I have to do so that I can run my bike off of methanol. And doesn't methanol make more power. Just a few questions that I had.

 

It is best to get an alky kit for your carb. You burn twice as much fuel with alky. Alky is highly corrosive (sp) you have to purge your carb after each ride. Alky does make good power though, much better than race gas. If you want to mess with the additional maint. go for it.

 

how much does alky cost per gallon, where do I buy it, and where could I get the kit for my carb. What type of power increase is there with alky.

 

If there is a speed shop near you,they might have it.There's 2 near me that has it.They mostly have stock car stuff,but they sell fuel.
It will burn up fuel quick.Long trips are out of the question unless you take extra fuel.It does make good power.There is also alot of maintanence.If you mostly just drag race,then go for it.If just riding is your thing,I'd stick with just gas.

 

Around here alky is 2.00~2.25 gal. check where you buy race gas, maybe somebody there knows where they sell it by you. I'm not sure where to get a alky kit for a Raptor, someone will have to answer that. Alky gains approx. 10% more power.
