I was just at the dealer considering a new warrior and he insists a 400EX beats a Raptor? He added that the raptor will win if it's a top gear high speed race.
Has anyone with a Raptor raced a 400EX? What was the result and by how many bike lengths?

 

In a drag race Stock for stock, "NO WAY". Maybe in the tight woods or on a track, but then rider skill comes into play as well. I think that dealer was either trying to plug the EX or he is a moron.
By the way, what part of Detroit are you from?

I dragged a new 400EX with a performance pipe against my stock Raptor and I smoked him like nobody’s business. Not even close!!!!

I later dragged a hopped up 400EX professionally built by White Bros that had almost $9,000 invested into it which beat me off the line only because of my inexperience with the clutch and ALL that power. If our parking lot strip was 200 feet longer I would have smoked him too. Once I got the front end on the ground I started to creep on him.

Your dealer must be thinking about the 250EX LOL, The 400 ex gets trashed like a sh:tty diaper. If it cant beat a banshee theres No way it can touch a Raptor.

 

Raptors are faster.

 

This is just another example why you shouldn't ask technical or comparison questions from a sales person. Many sales guys simply don't know what they are selling. Some do, but many don't.

As an example, I know of someone that bought a 400EX and went to a dealer to buy a pipe. The dealer told him it would make over 60hp after the pipe was put on. Some people will say anything just to make a sale.

 

your dealer is talking crap he should be put out of business for lying to customers, wouldn't you have been pissed if you laid down the cash for a 2001 EX and went upto a Raptor and he left you like you were not even on?

 

He was trying to make a sale. If i were you i would consider the 400 because it is only $700 more than the Warrior and the 400 is better everywhere but the Warrior has reverse!. The Raptor is $1500-$1800 more than the Warrior but do you really need it? Get the quad that is best for you instead of getting the most high performance thing out there. Remember, any stock ride will go out and beat by something, there's always a faster quad out there.
