Default 2006 Raptor 700R advice??

Hi to all the Aussies on here , Im a Kiwi moved to Sunshine Coast a few weeks ago , I am finding it difficult to find quad riders in these parts , any ideas ?? .
Also , had to ditch two Bombs before we came over here , trying to decide on new toy , I am keen to hear what any bigger riders think of the new 700 over the 660 . I had 01 660 and found it too cramped and small so went to the Bomb , never looked back since ( well, except to see where everyone else was ) he..he..

Are the ergonomics any better ?? does it suit bigger guys any better ???

Appreciate any and all comments .......

regards . Aaron

Hi Aaron, cant really help you with the riding as I am on the other side of australia, although I hear a lot about those stockton dunes that I think are in northern NSW which is still a fair distance from sunshine.
As far as the 700r goes I have ridden 2 different ones now and I have to say I am impressed so far at how they perform and handle. They are not as comfy as the DS but are more suited to the bigger rider than the 660. My friend keeps his 700 in my shed and it is parked next to my DS and easy to compare the two. Power to weight the 700 leaves the DS behind in a straight line easily and my DS has MRHP endcap, KN, jetted and the 700 stock except baffle removed. On the hillclimbs the 700r does not have the light front end the 660 has and is very easy to throw around. If the 700 proves it is reliable it will be a good choice. IMO the DS is still a heavy duty better built bike than the yamaha. In aus it is a lot easier getting aftermarket parts for the yamaha than the bomb. A lot of people still do not know what a DS is let alone have spare parts for them. Performance wise and price wise you would have to choose the 700r over the DS but if you are used to the size of the DS the 700 might feel a bit small. BTW over here you can pick up the 700r for $11800(aus) and the DSbajaX is $13500, but the X does have all the extras.

Thanks Gav , thats awsome info ... i will try and find a yama delaer to have a sit on one and see what its like.

Miss my bombs though, actually tried one of those MRHP lectron carbs ... spent 10 hrs on a dyno and decided to take it off . got more power with stock carb and a few mods . Cost me $1400 NZ for the carb and cable kit ( expensive sinker) .

Price of the yama looks good , but think i can import from LA for less than that . Will see how we go.
Stockton sounds good ...do u know of any web sites for Quads here in Australia ???

cheers
