When you purchase Mickey's (Four Stroke Tech - FST) Hi-Flow air intake kit, it comes with a Uni-Filter foam filter and an OuterWears. If you haven't tried it yet, K&N air filter cleaner works GREAT for cleaning the OuterWears and the foam filter. I was skeptical of the K&N cleaner at around $10, but it is worth every penny.
I oiled the foam filter real well, did not purposely oil the OuterWears. Some of the oil from the foam will soak through though.

Guess I don't understand the reasoning for a prefilter on foam, are you putting it on so you don't have to oil it? The foam is dense enough not to let anything pass through, especially after being oiled, a prefilter yes on a gauze filter, but foam?, I would never see the need for it.

if i was using a airbox with my foam clamp-on filter,i probably wouldnt be using a prefilter.running without the airbox i like using the prefilter to help keep the mud and whatever else off my filter, its also water resistant.my filter stays cleaner between cleanings using the outterwear and it will also last longer using one..
