Raptor reverse rev limiter
#1
Hey, I am having problems with my raptor going in reverse. It goes into reverse fine, but when I try to go backwards it starts cutting out and doesn't want to move, you have to get on the gas and clutch just right, then sometimes it will start moving, or it dies one of the two. I was told that I need to either adjust the rev limiter or bypass it. I am just a girl trying to get advise so I can get someone to fix it for me, if I can't do it myself. I also know they had problems with the transmissions on the first few bikes that came out, so I am hoping that is not the problem. PLEASE give me some advise, it is really getting on my nerves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reverse rev limiter. Either learn how the feather the clutch and watch your rpms better or bypass it. You can bypass it a couple ways; ground out the wire, install a resistor, or buy a box from ripperracing or ebay that you wire in.
The cheap and easy way is outlined here: Sand Wizards Go to tips and tricks on the left frame menu and then select yamaha raptor in the main page. There will be a link that says raptor reverse rev limit disconnect, instructions are there.
