I am selling my YFZ for either the Raptor 700 or the LT-R450. My parents are gonna buy me which ever one i want, but i dont know which one will be better performing. I ride some trails not to many though it mainly big like gravel or dirt roads. I also have quite a few drag races with friends and people around where i live. BUt i just cant make up my mind which one will be better in a drag and on big roads.

 

man i wish i had that problem.if i had the cash i'd try for the 700 but thats just because i want one.

PLEASE!!!! Don't sell your YFZ 450!!!! You got so much invested in it! But if you would really want to than for your type of riding, deffinetly the Raptor 700r. The LTR-450 is strictly for the track stock.

 

why abandon your YFZ? those are incredibly running bikes esp when modded like yours. i really dont think the LTR450 is going to be faster than your modded 05YFZ '480.' I could be wrong.

the new quadracer is quite impressive and is a cool machine, but it is very wide and not a trail bike unless the trail is wide. (i imagine the aftermarket will make shorter a arms and axles for this bike).

but hey, looks like you have it made, dude. since your parents are buying i really dont think you can go wrong. how long have you had the 05 YFZ? if they buy you a quad a year, get the 700R now, mod it, sell it and get a LTR450 next year after they been out for awhile. But i'd wait for the 07 model of each. unless you just cant stand it like i couldnt wait for the 450R in 04. I like it and its fun and fast, but the 06R is the bike they should have made in 04.

plus i saw on a site a suzuki rep saying that the LTR isnt quite ready for delivery yet - it will be jan or feb before they are delivered to the dealers.

 

I have had the YFZ for almost a year it will be a year old this November. but onced i trade this time i dought i will be trading again thats why i cant make up my mind. But my parents told me a couple quads ago that they wouldn't let me trade but i am trading again[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]. I just dont want to be dissapointed if a buy the 700 and the 450s will smoke it and i dont want to get the LTR450 and the 700 will beet it. YOu know what i mean?

Either way it seems like you are comparing two totally different purpose built bikes to each other. Apples to oranges IMO. Neither one would be a bad choice. It's just that one of them is going to be a bad choice for your needs.

My opinion.....your YFZ will be ready for some top end work soon...as the LT-R450, they are race bred motors. The Raptor 700R has more potential for H.P. and I think will last longer between top ends than the other 2 quads...Remember...this is just my opinion....I'm sure that others will bash me for this but....tuff nutttts.

 

YFZRyderMace, Your current ride will smoke either the 700 or the LT-R450. You are looking at losing a ton on that year old modified atv, only to have to pump even more into the new one to get it where you're already at. Sounds like your parents should have stuck to their guns originally. BTW, who pays for all of your mods?

 

Keep the YFZ... Its basically king of the LT and 700R
