No... it has nothing to do with them.

I had just taken notice of the sentence that looked like something my 4th grade nephew would have written.

Combine that with your sig full of BS, and we have a winner on our hands! heh

awesome.

Yea, it is a great bike.

Nothing like the sound of an RC with good pipes...

Hey trike, less than 3 days- no bids. Hmmmm.......and it's a 2 stroke, if you wanted to you could run that motor in reverse!!LOL

Don't know why this concept is so hard for some to understand. Ignition timing is the only variable when running these motors backwards. You can run a 4 stroke backwards too if you change the cam. You need to on a twin motor boat and run one prop with reverse pitch so it doesn't run in circles.

LOL, yeah I've been watching it. But, I've been looking at the wantads around here and the R's are cheap. I want to pick up a cheap one and restore it myself. Nothing like restoring something yourself. Makes you feel good in the end. I'm still considering this one however. By the way, this raptorider guy is funny as hell.... Mr.350x is right, theres nothing like the sound of a nice v-twin superbike with nice pipes.

thats great, if you started the motor in a reverse state, it WOULD NOT LAST!!! the main bearings are made to only run in one direction to allow proper oiling to take place... just think of an engine building 101 class, it makes sense, the bearings are designed to run toward one direction, if it goes backward, the oil does not flow properly... even if some how you magicly got the thing to start, and oil the rod bearings the babbit material would simply go away, possibly ending up on the cylinder walls screwing up the top end also... so, the theory of a banshee motor starting backward is moderately flawed... to add reverse, you would have to back down to a 5 speed transmission (to fit the reverse assy.) and add a reverse gear assy. if there was enough room, and I dont believe that any aftermarket company makes such a conversion...

Why would someone want reverse on a banshee anyways? Its already a moderately heavy machine stock, and its made to scream wide open!
Reverse would add some weight, possibly use up the space for 6th gear, ect.

Dont get me wrong. If I could tell wish to me geenie that my banshee had reverse with no weight penalty whatsoever, and still retain the 6 speed, I would do it.
Ive screwed around with reverse on a warrior before and I thought it was quite fun.

Before you start teaching me on motors 101 take a look at ski-doos rotax motors. I didnt say that raptorrider could just go out and start his bashee in reverse i was just saying that it could be done with a little bit of tinkering and re-desiging. Oh and the weight on electronic reverse is pretty close to just about nothing.

Why dont the ``instigator`` of this thread, or whomever wants to try a banshee in reverse just get out there and push/pull start it going backwards. Then we will know if it does work or not. Please some banshee owner sette this forever.

I would also like to know how it feels in 6th gears in reverse!!
