no water in the air box do i need to change my oil
#1
i just wen't mudding with my raptor 660. i got in some deep muddy water. it never enetered my air box and it remained dry. there was dust in it. do you think i should still change my oil. the oil looked good after riding it all day and starting it up the next day. the oil color was light tan , as if it was slightly used after an oil change. it looked allright to me. my friends say i should change the oil just for precautions though, what do you think

if the oil turns a milky white or milky tan color after running the engine for a bit, then there's water in it. if it's still clear, then it's probably good to go. You can still get water in your engine through other places than the intake, like the exhaust and breather pipe. it's probably a good idea just to change it anyways, a few bucks in oil is better than a few hundred for an engine. but i think you'll be fine either way

As long as all your seals and gaskets are good you should be fine. I ride through water and mud up to my seat all the time. Even if you get a little in your airbox, you should be fine. As long as it wasn't enough to suck more than a couple tablespoons past your air filter.
