Actually you need to look at the plug to see how it is running.
With my mods I am running a 152.5

I have to agree; you need to take a good close look at the plug after a throttle chop.

I'm only running a 152.5 @ approx 1100 ft. altitude and I'm at 435cc, 11:1, ported/polished head, FST cam, FST high flow intake, etc. I can't imagine you need to go any bigger than 150-152.5

The whole jetting thing is a real art. I spent $200 on an Oxygen sensor setup and was even more confused with its readings. It said I was way rich with a 150 and it ran even better on the top with the 152.5.

Mickey Dunlap said go with a 150 main to start and it should be pretty close. I'd venture to guess he's built more than a 1000 Warrior / Wolv 350's and the 150 was pretty close (in my case anyway). I am back to running a 150 right now and I like the 152.5 better on the top. I am going to put the 152.5 back in, especially now that it is cooling down.

The whole plug chop is really subjective too. I've found that if you use one of those light instruments the Doc used to look in your ears (Otoscope, I think) and look down at the base of the insulator, you will get a better idea of what is going on. You should only see a minimum of black coming up from the base of the insulator, towards the tip. There are numerous articles circulating around the web on this subject and they all describe what you are supposed to be looking for a little differently.

If you have a GPS, you can try doing 30-50 mph timings in 5th gear with a couple of different jets.

thanks,i agree totally, its a gamble getting it correct,i tried plug chops and there useless. i think a 160 jet will work,so i will give it a try!did you say the 150 is good with the stock or the 435 motor?

I know it's hard to believe, but Mickey @ FST said to start with a 150, WITH my mods. I gotta tell you, the Oxygen meter was not on the lean side either. Mine runs real strong with a 152.5 (with the 435 work) and I am going to try a 155 now that it is cooling down.

I doubt mine would take anything larger than a 155. When you start to get too big on the main jet, the motor will start breaking up while wide open. Just go back down to the next smaller size and try it there.

What mods do you have on your airbox? I have (1) TPI valve and I am going to install (1) more.

Do you have the stock Mikuni carb?

with out looking i have close to two 2.5" holes with screen over them in the top of my airbox,i have the 155 mukuni jet in there now and it take the gas no problem thats why i was wondering if the 160 will work.dont forget mukuni and dynojet sizes are not the same(i think).i really wont to learn more about the needle jet also becuase i have way better performance with the stcok one on the second from the bottom clip than i did with any clip slot on the stage one dyno jet kit i put in it.jet kits are a scam i think.
