Default Tires for yfz 450

I have an 05 yfz 450 and I am going to by some holeshots for it. I think I am going to get some 18's in the back but I am not sure about the fronts. What would be recomended? And I am thinking about a sprocket when I get the tires to even everything out. What size and kind of sprocket is recomended?
Thanks for your help.

If you look around there are gearing calculators floating around somewhere. My bro has 18" Holeshots on his YFZ, and there isn't a huge difference in the gearing by the old butt-o-meter compared to mine(I'm still running the stockers for the next few months) You could drop a 2 or 3 teeth on the rear srocket or add one on the front, and that should be reasonably close to stock if you can't find a calculator.

WOW!!

I got Holeshots XC's on my warrior,,they hold up real well

My Pred has the Razr radial and they too are a good tire..alot of forward bite compared to the XC's..and clean themselves off better.

XC's have more tire to the ground..

Holeshot HD's work well in almost all terrains... Renthal sprockets are the best if you are willing to pay the $$$.

I like the Kenda Klaws but thats just me ...

Anyway I'd go with 20" fronts of the same brand you decide to buy. Drop 1 tooth in the front, or 2 in the back to get normal gearing.

This all depends on what you plan on doing.

Track racing:
Here's where you'd go with the 18's. Don't get the HD's. They are the heaviest holeshots that itp makes. Go with the XCR's. The XCR's are designed for racing, and
they are the lightest.

Trail Riding:
Go with 22's. They'll give you more ground clearance, which you'll need in the trails. Get the XCT's. These ones are designed for trail riding. They are not as heavy
as the HD's and not as light as the XCR's. They have a 6 ply sidewall to help protect against rocks and roots.

Here's the gearing calculator for a z400. You can change it at the bottom of the page, but they don't have one on there for a yfz450. You'll have to use the generic and figure out your primary reduction.
