Default Raptor questions

I have an 03 KFX 400, but all it does is give me problems. I mean, its fast and comfortable and everything, but the brakes broke, the chain adjustment screw snapped off, rear swing arm skid snapped off, and now there r problems with the carb and throttle. Basically, to me, its a money pit, and im getting sucked in.
After I get the screw bored out, rethreaded, and fixed on the chain adjuster (after paying more money of course), I am thinking of selling it so that I won't have to worry about its problems. I used to have a yamaha warrior and my dad has an 03 Grizz, and they both are great. No problems. Basically I want to come back to yamaha now and get a 02-03 Rappy 660, seeing that I can sell this POS when fixed for around 4000. Just some questions.
Wats a good price for a typical (stock or slightly modded) 02-03 Rappy 660?
AS of now, I understand that Yamaha fixed the 01 Rappy problems on the 02+, correct?
Also, what are a few sites for used ATV's that I could look at to see what I should be looking at?

Thx a lot, and I hope to be a Yamaha owned soon.

wow, u thought that kfx was the greatest thing in the world, now u think its a pos? and i wouldnt take 4000 for a pos either. id try to list it at 3400 first. yes they fixed the tranny problem after 02, but the starter one-way likes to go on certain year models so id research into that. around here ive found the avg. price for 02-04 raptor in the 3200-4200 range

by the way Warrior02man do u take ur atv to the shop to get fixed or do u work on it urself?

Them problems seem kind of petty for you to want to get rid of it. They can very well happen to a Raptor or anything else for that matter. Do you think its a lemon? You never really know what your getting when you buy used.

no, i have a mechanic do it that knwos what he is doin.. but he doesnt give me a great discount. It wont be a POS anymore once its fixed, so thats why ill list at around 3900-4000.

They are not "petty" So far I have put in about 200 into it, and this bolt thing and carb thing will run me about 200-300. its a money pit, for me anyways. I only have a lil over a thousand saved for car insurance, and this thing keeps draining that money. Thats why I am selling it.

You are usually going to have problems with all sport quads... speed and reliability arent really a combination when it comes to atv's.

my warrior was fine. so was my brothers. my friends 350 rappy also has no problems. my bros rm 100 has no probs either... so I am guessing this is just a lemon.

Anyways.. please stay on topic!

LOL, you're whining about a few broken bolts and you're ready to bail? I can't wait to see your post when the one-way goes out on the raptor you buy.

thats small stuff, that's part of the game, anything you take through the woods at fast speeds [sport quads in general] is going to have small problems thats part of the up keep, they make bikes out of aluminum that frustrates you when you brake it

04 raptor few mods
