Default Raptor 660 Oil

Hey folks, I need some help. First of all I am not very savvy with mechanics, so please don't find this as a stupid question. I bought a Yamaha Raptor 660 2002 last weekend, and Yesterday I checked the oil and it seems very thin, almost as if it has water. Compared to my car's oil it is like almost like water. I would like to know if this is normal. I live in South Florida, so I don't know if the weather has something to do with it or if that is normal in this bike. The guy that sell it to me said that he changed the oil like a couple of months ago and have not use it much since he did it and that he has not get it into any lake or anything like that.

Anyone that with this bike has experience the same?

Thanks

If it has water in it the oil will be a milky color.

Also, you really need to change the oil regularly in these machines. Id change it and put some fresh motorcycle oil in it.

Thanks! but the color would be "milky"? like white? the color is light brown, like oil, but it is very very liquid.

As long as it doesn't have that milky look to it, like greyish or even chocolate milk.

Just move up to a heavier weight oil and give that a try.

That sounds like it is about normal. If your unsure, you can always change it to be safe.

better to just change it, and decide for yourself what oil an filter to use. Do a search on it and you will see it is discussed all the time and argued what to use.
