Default Best Exhaust?

I put a Trinity exhaust on my 700. What a difference. I felt like powerwise I got my moneys worth, the powerband is more intense. There were some fitment issues, and it whistles when I let off the gas.

Trinity has the best header design by far. Ive looked at HMF, FMF, GYTR, Pro Circuit.....Trinity places the Y pipe way farther back, premoting more torque.

Because they like to blow all to hell on the 660 with high compression, high rpms, big pistons, and other factors.

Do you think this whistle is coming out of the endcap or maybe where the pipes mate up?

Yes it is a 700. Why would I get anything smaller! I have pictures but they are not that good. It is white/silver. I have been looking at CT Racing's pipe but I don't know anything about them....

I have a theory that Yamaha is using the same rod as they did in the 660. (I haven't verified it yet with a PN) Maybe they had a surplus or something. Why else would it be tuned so low in the RPMs? The 700s have no top end power. I think that's weird. It don't make sense to me except that they know the limitations of the rod and they tuned the 700 accordingly.

Anyone have a 700 parts lists or shop manual so we can compare?

I have a CT. They are the most bang for the buck. They constantly blow all other pipes away in the shoot outs. They have good service. Sometimes they don't fit that well, but CT is helpful in that regard. But they are loud. If it is too loud, you can take disks out to quiet it down at the expense of top end power. If you make mods later, you can add disks to adjust for your mods.

If you are intrested, send an email or PM to A&B Extreme. They are a prefered vendor on this formum. He can get you an awesome price. (CT prices are scary)

Look up Curtis sparks. He had the best pipe for the 660. Its an air pump.....more flow is more power. compare the header size of Sparks compared to any other pipe made.

My buddy has CT exhaust and it is nice. He was told that it is junk by a mechanic at Yamaha. He said to get the big gun because it gives more top end power. Now another friend has a Big Gun and it doesnt seem to help him much. I have Pro Circut, and i guess it helps. I dont know for sure because it was on the bike when i bought it. So really i didnt help you at all.
