Default yfz 450 oil questions

i am considering gettin a new yfz450 but a friend told me you had to change the oil every three rides. is this true that the motors are that touchey or can you let them go longer?

Wow,if thats true... I'm screwed. I've only changed the oil two or three times since I've owned it.

after 3 big rides I would change oil in any ATV. 2 quarts of oil shouldn't break you.

It's recomended that you change your oil every 15-20 riding hours on any four stroke! I change mine between 10 and 15! Usually after every ride! Like the last guy said, a couple quarts of oil aren't going to break the bank! Take care of your engine and it'll take care of you!

I change the oil in my bike every other time out and oil filter every 3rd time out. I ride my bike hard, and maintain it equally.

To compare service intervals, a standard of operation needs to be set. What does a ride consist of to you? To me, its a weekend in Glamis, putting 6-8 hrs for sure, of wide open dune running. To someone else, a ride is riding to the other end of the farm or down to the liquor store.

2 trips and my oil is dark brown. Keepin the oil clean is the least i can do for a bike that does so much for me.
