Ok Raptor 700 owners, I am in need of some better suspension. I would like to have a ride like my TCS suspended DS 650. My dealer priced out a set of long travel Lone-Star a-arms for around $835 but they do not offer a long travel rear linkage yet. The 700 will be only rode in the sand so how wide should I go? and any other help on who's stuff to buy.

 

Id go 3-4" wider per side on the arms.

Do you want the best of the best, or just alot better than stock? Best of the Best is Laegers Pro Trax front end. The arms are vertically mounted at the outboard end with custom spindles. Just bring your wallet and add shocks.

The bottom of the barrel are the arms that keep the shock mount in the same spot as stock. Next step up is an arm that moves the lower shock mount out, requring a longer shock.

Houser, Janssen Motorsports, Laeger, Gibson and Lone star are the names I think about when deciding on new arms. Keep in mind when shopping, the arms are the same as the YFZ 450.

 

how about yfz front piggyback shocks as a cheap upgrade.

You are correct.

Had a 93 Banshee with +2" arms and offset rims. It measured 53". Very stable.

Gotta realize myself and the author of this post ride the dunes. I think if we were riding in the woods, that would not be the best setup.

 

I don't think that width would work in alot of the tree shots in Oregon, one wheel would be off the trail, but it would be stable for sure.
