Default 760 jetting

well last night i jetted my raptor well at least the mains i would run it down the highway and the header pipes would be glowing bright red so i put a 185 in it and still glowing so then i put a 195 in it and it doesnt glow going down the road but it does still at idle so im thinging i need to bump up my pilots a little bit ill go that tonight and report back.

bob told me that i might have to adjust it he didnt think that stroker would suck that hard but im going to take it up to him in a week or two to put it on a dyno and have him dial it in perfect.

but that thing will haul ***

(thank you captain craycraft)

oh and i will be open for any suggestions from anyone. Maddog, ubetrun help me out here yall are my go to guys, i know bob cant help me hes gone riding this weekend but i figure i can get it taken care of in here

Not to sure about your jetting issues. I assume you are using 39mm fcr's, I am running 165mains in my 740cc. Your up to 195mains, sounds a little rich. Best bet is to let Bob dyno it and set everything up right.

Got 160's in my 39mm fcr's. May need to bump mine up just a bit....Bob's jetting was real close as long as the weather was warm.

well i couldnt find any pilots for it right off hand so the lean idle is still present, all the gas i had was 111 octain so i mixed about an 1 oz. of 2 stroke oil in it to help it no burn so dry, i was told that before dunno if it works or not, but heres my problem now i dont know since i put the 2 stroke oil and the jets in it at the same time if its too rich or the oil is making it smoke. it seems like since i got it back it had kind of a rich sounding idle and maybe off beat pop im not sure how to describe it. it runs out great and doesnt miss a beat. when i kill it smoke comes from the tail pipes again not sure if its the oil or jets. and im not just 100 sure what i should do just leave it alone and let bob fix it in a week or try some more on my own.

Stop now and get that 2-stroke oil out of the gas tank, it's not going to help anything.

I think your motor had 175 mains in it for the break in period, that should be darned close on regular race gas. With oxygenated race fuel, you might need to go up another increment or two (180/185). Based on what I read/heard though, I think your pilots are a little lean.

I know you are anxious and Bob is in the desert this weekend but your motor cost a lot of $$$, wait another week and get it dialed in properly on the load dyno.

will 1 oz. really hurt a full tank of 111 octain race gas?

I would remove the gas with the two stroke oil in it as well.

And if your looking for some top end lube check out the Klotz website. They have the proper gas adder to lube the top end of your Raptor. I use it for the alky I ran on the 686, but it would also be good to use with race gas.

Find a drag banshee owner? LOL.

If you don't mind, pm me when you get your Raptor dialed in on the dyno. Should be interesting numbers....espically the torque.
