Hi Guys

Can anyone help me determin the age of my quad. It is a YFM 350 4x4 (full time). I have read that the frame number can identify the year?.

I would appreciate any help you guys can give.

Cheers

Well your Big Bear has the same color scheme as my Moto 4, and mine's an '89. I would guess early 90's? Not too sure on that...You bought the quad without knowing its year?

Hi Guys

I bought it off a mates dad. It looked good, ran well and handled ok. I mainly bought it to help me out on my place and at the time was not worried about its age, although he did say that the guy he bought it off several years ago said that it was a 1995 model. Now I am just interested in what year it was made.

Do you have to go to a bike shop to find out the age from the frame number or is there somewhere on the internet that I can check.

Thanks

westie

Westie, they started making them in 87.I had an 88 and my buddie had an 87.The early ones had a shifter on the left fender and had low range. They also had drum brakes on the front.
We were really hard on those machines and they took it well.

The tenth digit from the left in the V.I.N is the model year code. If it's a 95 the tenth digit will be an S. It was manufactured in 94 more than likely.

So if the tenth letter is a N then it would be a 1990?

I believe thats a 92.1985 is the letter F so you can work from there..They did not use "I" or "O" in the vins.
