Trouble Starting
#1
I am having trouble starting my 2004 Yamaha Bruin
When I try the electric starter it doesn't try to start, instead I head a very rapid clicking near my fuses
So I tried to pull start it, thinking the battery was weak but I can't get it to turn over.
I checked the Battery voltage with a meter and it was reading 11.93v.
Can anyone help?

More info please.
How long ago was the last time that it started?
On your last ride, were you going through water or snow?
Your battery voltage reading is more important if it is taken under a load (as when cranking).
MOST IMPORTANT: If you can not turn it over with the pull rope, you need to find out why! You may have frozen water in the system, or even a locked up engine.
With more info, we could help you better.

Thanks for the reply,
Sorry I haven't checked this website in a while, I got a new computer and I am just getting up and running.
I have since got the four wheeler to start and I have used it a few times plowing since.
But Now I am having trouble starting it again. I got a battery tender and have charged up the battery. I have also been trying to pull start it. I can get it to start up and it runs for 30-45 sec and stalls. I have the choke open when starting it and I didn't change it before it stalled. It is cold here, but not too cold its in the teens. I keep the bike in an unheated garage attached to the house. Any idea why it quits?
Thanks

The bike is a Yamaha 2004 Bruin 350 2x4 4x4 auto
I bought it new in Spring 2005 and Have only gone through two tanks of gas with it.
I have not done a whole lot of riding with it and I never got it in the water. I come across an occasional puddle but nothing much.

it's probably running lean if it won't idle when it's cold. My cousin's suzuki eiger did the same thing until i turned the fuel screw out to richen up the idle mixture. You shouldn't need to have the choke on for more than 15 seconds for it to start running by itself.

Hello Helpers, thank you for your efforts
I got it to start up ok now, but when I turn the choke all the way off, it cuts out.
If you haven't noticed yet I'm no mechanic
Any help would be great

sounds like it's a problem with your pilot jet. Either it's clogged, adjusted too lean, or you need a bigger one. The choke is keeping it running by adding extra fuel, so if it stops running when the choke is off then the pilot jet isn't providing the fuel it needs. Start by taking the pilot jet out and making sure it's not clogged up, also, try turning the fuel screw in all the way, and then out 2 turns. Keep turning the fuel screw out half a turn at a time and trying to run it without the choke.
