Default Keeping the Banshee....lighting question

Last April, I bought a newly built-up (engine) 2000 Banshee from my son thinking it would be a temporary ride until I picked up a bigger and more comfortable sport quad (I am a Grandpa newbie at quad riding). I was really thinking about the DS-650, but the more I ride the 'Shee, the more fun it is. I do a combination of trail, sandy bottom washes, and next week will be the first of many trips to Glamis. I did ride my Bro's new DS Thanksgiving weekend, and while it is great for hard desert riding, has tons of bottom end torque and is very comfortable, the Banshee is just a blast to kick around in, which is what I like to do. I have found I have no issue with it's comfort level. Plus, having owned and raced in veteran's class motocross a few times with my Yamaha IT-250 when I was younger, I just love that screamin' 2-stroke, and this thing is kick-a&& fast!

Now to my question about lighting, which really sucks. How can I brighten up the lighting for better night riding? Are there any kits made for the Banshee?

Thanks!

Trailtech.com has really good billet lights. $125. I bought the stock location lights. 1 is a flood, 1 is a spot. Real bright. Rickystator.com has good stuff there.

I could only find Trail Tech handle bar mounted lights. You said "stock location lights". That is what I would want. I will try the other website.

Thank You,

Is 35 watts per lamp the max I can go? I have found some 55 watt lamps, but not sure if the quads can and handle the larger bulbs.

35 watts max for each head light. You can get a ricky stator, 200 watt stator, and run some big watt lights. It also comes with a 4 degree timing plate. If your shee doesnt have a 4 degree timing advance, I would look into it. When I advanced my timing, I couldn't believe the bottom end power I picked up.

I will check out the timing. I am not sure I need more bottom end power as I tend to spin the tires when I get on it from a standstill on hardpack. After losing a couple of drags to my brother in laws TR-450, I learned I needed to start off in 2nd. My son says the knobbies this 'Shee came with were designed for flat track and not dragging. I will know more when I go to Glamis next week with paddles and then maybe I will want more bottom end.

Thanks again for the info...200 watts would be plenty to beef up the lighting including a brighter tail/stop light.
