Default Blaster carb help

I bought my son a 28mm Keithin PE carb, and G3 reeds for Christmas. I got it on yesterday but I can't get it to idle. If I turn the idle set screw either direction, it does not change anything. What am I doing or have done wrong?

I am assuming the stock carb with TORS was on it..Correct?? If so when you removed the tors did you splice and twist the 2 wires together that once connected to the tors?

It had the stock carb with the tors. And no, I didn't connect the two wires. I just un-plugged them under the tank. Will that affect idle? I wondered about the rev limiter but figured it would be at top end. Can I just make a wire to connect the two wires in the plug?

Those two wires won't affect the idle. Make sure you are screwing the actual idle screw, rather than the fuel mixture screw. The idle screw goes directly in there against the slide and pushes it upward. When you turn that one in there's no doubt you're on the right screw then.

I'm sure I adjusted the idle screw. Problem is, I can run it in until you can't turm it anymore and it doesn't change a thing. I've been searching on other sites, and most people say that the reeds can cause this. The reeds are brand new. I know that you can get some bad products brand new, but I didn't see anything wrong with them. I really can't imagine that being the problem.

So is it like a rev limiter? What is it's function and does it hinder performance?
