Default Replacing Raptor Drivetrain

I need some input on adjusting the rear axle on my 04 Raptor. I'm replacing the whole drivetrain with Renthal sprockets and a chain. 12F/40R sprockets, 94-520 X-ring chain. I don't know where to begin. I do know how to adjust the rear axle backwards, so that the chain will tighten. I don't know how to move the axle foward so that I can replace the front and rear sprocket and the chain. If any one could help me out with this problem I would be very thankful!

I'm assuming your rear end is still stock, especially since you don't know how to adjust it yet. My first piece of advice for you is to buy a Clymer shop manual, or at the least, a yamaha shop manual. Here's what you'll need to do to replace your chain and sprockets.

First, bend back the lock tabs on the nut holding on your front sprocket. Then, loosen this nut. It's a 22mm if i'm not mistaken. Next, loosen the nuts on the rear sprocket flange that hold the sprocket on. Then, break the master link on your chain. After removing the chain, you will be able to take the countershaft sprocket right off. In order to remove the rear sprocket, you will have to take the left rear tire off. That's it. Repeat in reverse to install.

If you know how to adjust the chain to make it tighter, then you know how to loosen the chain. On the stock swingarms, loosen the two 17 mm nuts on the bolts that go all the way through the swingarm and the bearing carrier. The nuts are on the right side by the rotor and caliper. Then, loosen the nuts on the two adjuster bolts on the top of the swingarm and bearing carrier. It's been a while, but I think you back the adjuster bolts out to loosen the chain.

Thanks for the Help! I should be able to give it a try sometime this weekend, when the sprockets come in. Thanks again for the help!
