Probably won't be able to feel a difference if you take the arrestor off or installed an aftermarket pipe. It's when you do a number of mods that compliment each other that you feel a real difference. Full exhaust system, High flow air filter, and rejet is where alot of people start, from what I have read here.
If I were to modify a quad I would do all of the "bolt on" stuff first. Pipe, rejet, filter, CDI maybe just get an aftermarket carb, play with the gearing. And then get a little deeper with the big bore kits and porting and polishing, cams ETC.

i pulled the baffle out of my stock raptor when i first got it, after several months i put it back in, it caused it to make a popping noise, it helped on power somewhat and made it louder, i really think the loudness makes a person think it's quicker but it's not enoughf to worry or brag about, i would just save some money and buy a pipe jet kit and k&n filter
