Default brake fluid, what type

Anybody know what type of brake fluid I need to use in a 05 kodiak 450? Should I use the yamaha brake fluid or can I use regular fluid purchased at autozone? Also is it dot 3 or 4? I don't have access to my manual and wanted to buy some before I go home to work on the brakes tonight.

you shoud always use Dot 4 brake fluid in hydraulic brake systems on ATVs. the lines build up less pressure, and therefore require a higher density brake fluid to compensate. go to any quad performance shop and you can pick up some atv-specific brake fluid. But, if you just go to any local repair shop you can get some dot 4 brake fluid.
