Can anyone give a heads up on what to look for as problem areas on each model year? I am looking for pluses and minuses in looking for a used quad. Any and all help would be appreciated.

01 had tranny problems, 01 - 03 had one way gear problems, they didnt really change them on the 04 - 05 so they can have problems too. The e brake cables stick on the 01 - 04, i think they fixed the problem in 04 and up but im not to sure. The choke plungers and springs would get grungy or the spring would break on 01 - 03, again im not 100% on the years on this problem. I dont know of any more.

 

my friend has an '02 and my cousin has an '03; neither of them have had an ounce of trouble. they are the original owners of the machines.

just stay away from the first year raptors..2001.

my 02 hasnt had one hint of a problem.
