ok i have an 05 raptor 660 it was all stock i put a pro alum. slip on exhaust, k&N airbox lid and some jets(150-155). My top speed went from 80mph to 75mph with alot more power in the low end my question is what should be a good size for my jets to use, i have all ranges from 140's to a 175. is bigger jets better? i also moved the needle clip down one notch. how much horses should i get and also what would be the best set up. also with some set up advice can i get a round and about for gas and air mix.(now it is 3turns out)

The subject of a stock Rappy doing over 75 has been beat to death. It just doesnt happen.
73-75 is tops for a rappy. And a Predator, dont get me started.
You can do all the motor mods in the world to that bike, it still wont go faster.
That is, of course, unless you add enough HP to that thing that it will be able to handle a gearing change. Its a gearing change, and a gearing change ONLY that will add more top end speed. But like I said, unless enough HP is added, even with a gearing change, you wont reach its top speed potential due to wind resistance and aerodynamics ect, ect.
A stock motor just cant handle more than the stock gearing.

And guess where all of the people who clocked the rappy in magazines do it at.on dusty dirt paths, whereas we do it on asphault road.My rappy did 78 stock, and that was on a mildly windy day on flat road next to my uncles sv650.It is without a doubt not impossible. And btw, not one model of quad is exactly the same.

True: Very few if any stock raptors will ever break 75mph. There's always a ringer out there somewhere, just like any other motor vehicle.
False: Motor mods wont make the bike go faster without a sprocket change. The raptor isnt bouncing off the limiter in 5th gear in stock form, in fact hitting it at all on a stock bike under load is quite a feat. So more power will allow the bike to better pull the gearing it already has, and in fact can go faster with the same gearing if it has more hp and can run at a higher rpm.
For bikes like the ltz clones and yfz which can hit the limiter topped out, your theory holds more water. But the raptor doesnt fall into the same category.

You say that you moved the needle down one notch? Did you ride it at all after the mods with the needle in the stock position? I agree, your jetting sounds right on. Move the needle back to the middle position and give that a shot. I am not sure that your mods would have required moving the needle clip.
The pipe manufacturer should have needle/jet settings on their website for you. If not, give them a call.
As far as the top speed, don't worry about it. How quickly you can get to top speed is going to win more races than total top speed.
Let us know if you make any jetting/needle clip changes and how they work out.
Good luck.
