Default Pistons and Cams??

im getting a stock bore piston 11:1 and hotcam stage 1...i saw this at Ripper racing..is JE pistons any good and is this kit a good price??

also what is a average install price for a kit like this at a shop? thks

hmm did a search on je pistons on the forum and discovered that je pistons r prone to breaking..maybe ill stay away from them and just go with CP pistons..

Ross and CP are good pistons for the Raptor.

any idea what it would cost to install a stock bore piston and hotcam stage 1 at a shop? just want to get an idea so i dont get something shoved up my butt by a shop

stay with either the ross or the CP piston, the CP piston alone costs as much as that entire kit from Ripper Racing. besides you wont notice much of a change unless you port the head. it should take a competant mechanic about 2 hours to install that kit. My advice, tear it down yourself and let him re-assemble it. ive been a kit simliar to ripper's for over year and a half not problem. nothing wrong with the wiesco, JE seem to break, but neitehr compare to the Ross or CP, but my wiseco has held up great.

Or spend half as much money and get a piston that's just as reliable with a wiseco.
