YFZ 450 or no.....
#1
I was going to get a raptor but all my friends said no because they have them and they dont want me to have the same thing. So I am considering the yfz 450. What was the first year they put reverse in them? Do they have electric start? How good are they in wheelies compared to a 400ex, like the balancing point. Would you get one over a 2005 raptor?

Here's some more to consider.
They never have and never will put reverse on the YFZ.
Yes they have electric start.
Can't compare the wheelie factor as I have never owned or ridden a 400EX.
Your best bet is to either spend some time at your local dealer reading a brochure or spend some time here http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr...23/0/home.aspx doing some homework.

neither the yfz 450 or the trx 450r have reverse. if you really want to raptor, get the raptor. getting something you don't want because none of your friends have it is pointless. if all your friends have a raptor 660 and want you to get something different then pick up a 700R. bud get either a 350yfz(if you like sudden acceleration) OR raptor700(all time/place quad)
450yfz is meant for racing only- not meant for cruising- plus very uncomfortable--
i personally do not recommend 450yfz unless you already have (350yfz and raptor700) and you are looking for a third quad
good look bud

Or are we trying to bring the Raptor 350 into the equation?

I found a pretty good deal on a 2005 raptor too. But I have one friend that has a raptor but he doesnt ride with us and he doesnt really ride it at all. I have another one that got a 2005 and another that got a 2003 for Christmas. The one with the 2005 doesnt want me to get one because that would make as "all have one" from his words. I reallly want one because they have a lot of speed, reverse, electric start and they are comfortable, I am considering the predator, how do they compare to the raptor? Also what is the first year of the predator that they had reverse and electric start? I think its 2005, thank you for your help, yall have done good.

The Pred matches up fairly well with the raptor and '05 up have all the attributes you are looking for(e-start, reverse, speed, comfort) Personally, if you like the raptor, get an '06 700R. It has been totally redesigned from the '05 model. Different engine, different chassis, different suspension, fuel injection, and so on. I think your buddy just wants to try out /ride someone elses' quad. It's your money, so buy what you want.

I heard that the predator has bad suspension. Is this true? I am not going to have enough money to get a 700 but i found a deal on an 05 raptor and I cannont find any predators with reverse and e-start in texas for a good price. If i cant find any predators then I am going to get the raptor any ways.
