I am moving fallon nevada, and I want to get a new quad but keep my blaster. I have ridden a yfz and the z, and I like them both but I have never ridden in the dunes so I was wondering what do you recommend? I am going to get one of these but I have no idea which one. And my mom wants a quad to ride so I am also looking around for her. She is kind of new to the sport but I was thinking about a raptor 660, raptor 350, 400ex, or maybe a predator.

for you i would go with the z400, just becuase i think they are a great all around quad as many will agree, i also think your mum should get a z400 so if your quad breaks you can "borrow" the part from hers until you get yours fixed.
a little more info on what type of ridding you do and what you want to do with your new quad.

Well I will be riding in sand most of the time. I dont know much else of the terrain. I would like to ride and jump the dunes, and maybe race some times.

I'v got a Z400 and it's a great bike but if you've got the money go for the yzf450 and the Z400 for mom.

I think I will buy the z for mom, and the yfz for myself.

How much maintenance does it require? Is it like race maintenance?

I just change oil -oil filter-and clean air filter. I also clean my quads after every ride and check for loose bolts , there's not much to it.

Well do you do this every ride? atv action said you have to change the oil every ride is this true? I clean my quad and check for loose bolts, clean the air filter like every 10 rides, which is like every 3 days. I change the oil like every 2 weeks.
