Default BANSHEE 35mm Carbs and Stiff Thumb Throttle

I have a Banshee with Trinity Engine work done on it (it used to belong to my brother). I went riding locally over the weekend and i had a hard time riding it. The thumb throttle was so strong that my thumb quickly tired out after about 20 mins of riding.

I come to understand that the springs inside the carbs cause this problem. I called Trinity and they suggested 2 things, one was to cut the springs inside the carbs ontop of the slides and the other was to get a TerryCable Billet Thumb Throttle.

So I bought the thumb throttle they recommended and installed it. The action of the thumb throttle is still very strong. It doesnt seem to have lightened up.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this just something I have to get used to? Should I cut the springs on the carbs?

I cut mine on my Kehiens (sp) Just don't cut to much off so the spring doesn't return all the way back up

You should pulling open the slides on a pair of 41mm carbs.
You will need to cut the springs. Cut them even with the top of the carburetor.

make sure the cable isnt old and holding you up. a fresh cable will help too if your old one is ragged.

you can also cut a couple coils out of the spring but dont take too much, the spring is the only thing that keeps the slide where you want

Thanks guys I appreciate the responses. A friend told me that before I cut the springs to just give a try a thumb throttle extender. I tried it this weekend on some hour plus rides and my thumb didnt get tired a bit.
