Default Cleaning The Bike

When spring comes around i would like to do a full clean down of my 1996 warrior, and i was wondering what would be best to use to get the oil/grease/lubricant/dirt off things like the swingarm and a-arms and like half my frame. Also what to use to make my engine look alittle more shiny and clean.

well simple green has been known to work good but BEWARED!!! it is anti-grease and it WILL dissolve the grease out of bearings, bushings, seals, and even the oil

I always use greased lightening on my swing arm and stuff when like your chain lube gets on the swing arm and it works really well. But simple green works well too just any kind of degreaser will work. Mace

i belevie it is called enging degreaser... it comes in a white can with orange letters and orange picture i think.. You can get it at auto parts but oinly a couple draw backs.. first you have to wash it really good after you get it off B/C it is flammable and also what speedy2222 said about taking of grease on barings

If you have mud and dirt, in hard to get places, the dealer actually told me to just spray WD40 on it and then just air hose or wipe it dry. When i did it, it smoked because of the oils heating up, so dont be scared if you do it and that happens.

Some choose to, but i wouldnt on some things like the engine and ball-bearings because the seals and gaskets are not ment for that high of pressure on them. However, on fenders, swingarm, frame, it wont hurt it, but it might chip the paint if you care.
