Change raptor to a 686
#1
I am wanting to change my 03 raptor to a 686, I have a GYT-R pipe on it now, Who makes the best kit? Will it have any problem overheating? What kind of power gain should i expect, I am also planning on a stage 2 cam?

Dont forget to get the rod changed, I run my old 686 without changing the rod and it let go $$$$. No overheating probs at all , but I have a temp guage and as soon as it reaches about 180 deg I can flick a switch and cool her down. You will not regret going to 686

well u dont need to send it to a builder unless u have bout 1500 bucks to blow, now u can get i wisco 11-1 piston and a stge 1 hot cam for bout 300 bucks, stg 2 is more cause of the valve springs, but the first combo is more than enough power for most anything

a builder for $1500, i wish my builder was charging me that much for my 686. The parts alone $1400. You can very easily make your self a home brew 686. Just send it to a pro for the porting, and do the rest yourself. You will have to have the cases split for the new rod $325 for the labor.

i have to agree i wish that mt shop only charged 1500 i got stuck with a little under 3000, i would have to say that i would of done it my self if i did not have to do the tranny upgrade for the 01, the 686 has lots of power to keep you happy.
