Default Dobeck Settings??

I have a Raptor 700 with HMF slip-on, Pro-Design K&N Kit, and Dobeck TFI. I was wanting to know if anyone had any settings for these mods or give me something close. I have looked on HMF and they just tell the settings for there slip-on or there full system, but i dont know how much more fuel it needs for the Pro-Design K&N kit along with no lid. Thanks Jamie Mace

Hey Mace!.........You'll find that just about everyone with the dobeck runs theirs at different settings and it will run good at just about all of them. The trick is the fine tuning for your machine and purpose. The 700 is a bit odd IMO, just because of its powerband. Personally, I run mine on the lean side. It don't quite have as much pull in the upper Rs as a richer setting but it gets to the "shifting" RPM quicker (I short shift).............or so it seems anyway.
I'm currently at 3:30-6-6-8 but I'm still in the tuning process. So far I like this one the best.
Good luck!

It depends on which of three dobeck EFI controllers you have. The Best way to tune is with an A/F sniffer. But, you can tune other ways, that are less sophisticated. Similar to how home mechanics tune thier carbs. There are a number of A/F sniffers out there that work for both carbed and EFI machines. Simply put the sniffer on, rev to the correct RPM, read the guage and either richen or lean depending on what side you are on.

I am, and have been around the forums for at least 6 years. I've had various aliases, too. If you have ever been to the Oregon Dunes, you probably have been there when I was. I was about to jump in that other thread you posted about how carb motors always leave the line better than EFI, but I thought I would give you a break. Unless of course you knew about the dual mode EFI controllers out there that also incorporate an accelerator pump circuit. But, maybe I'll save that for another day.

Nope, I dont. I was just once again posting what I have experienced in my riding/owning different machines! I was just saying from a stock FI setup to a carb, thats been the case.
You must deal with FI quit a bit. For most of us, we dont know, and what we cant work on mechanically scares the heck out of us! Most anyone can do carb work!
I got that way from trying to play wtih cars too, that have FI. Its a much bigger pain, then that of a carberated muscle car!

Trust me on this, Expect to get the truth if you talk about EFI on this forum. What I dont know, I can find out. I have access to some of the top guys that do this for a living. Look, I dont even own a EFI quad, but I do a lot of study in this area for good reason. EFI can be is as simple as a carb, even simpler. Sometime I'll have to meet up with you on my next road trip to the west coast.

No one up here has the LE yet? And, I am getting a better deal down there! Wish we would have waited to get our 700 from down there too!

Default Dobeck Settings??

Thanks Ozark for the settings!! I will try those along with the setting Techlusion gave me. I decided i would go ahead and e-mail dobeck to see if they could give me some help. These are the settings they recommeded i use 3:30-7:30-3:30-9. All yeah Ozark i will tell you about my day yesterday a friend of mine came over (Cory) and he has a Predator with Yoshimura slip-on, and a K&N airfilter. Me and him have basically same mods just i have HMF and he has Yoshimura. Well anyways first we raced from a dead stop, it was close between me and him untill i hit 4th then i started pulling away from him. Then we raced at a rolling start (we run side-by side in 3rd gear on dirt untill our front tires hit the blacktop then we both crack on em and take off) and i beat him from the time we took off till the end. ( I guess my raptor has a higher top speed over his predator) Well just thought i would let you know. So now i have a Stock Predator, Stock 06 450R, Stock Z400, Stock 660 Raptor, and a Piped and K&Ned Predator under my belt... Later Jamie Mace
