Default Raptor question???

My boyfriends 04 raptor 660 has a problem. When you rev it up (at idle or in gear) it cuts out. It alsmost sounds like the rev limiter in reverse. A friend of ours told us he had a similar problem with his raptor and to fix it he simlpy grounded out his reverse limiter under the L foot peg. We've tryed the neutral saftey switch as well. All his sensors (clutch and parking brake, etc) are good. We put his main resistor into another 04 raptor and that one ran fine. (we havn't checked the main CDI unit though. We have also had it jetted plenty of times to many different settings. Has anyone run across this problem, or have any ideas on what it could be. *We also bought the electrical manual for it.

Default Raptor question???

it's sounds like the parking brake sensor. sometimes it does not properly disengage when unlocking the parking brake, and cuts the engine out as a safety mechanism.

Default Raptor question???

Sounds like park brake limiter, on the clutch perch follow the wiring down to near the radiator, unplug the wires with the big white plug, disconnect the white plug and leave off, and seal up with silicon or tape, and the other two single wires simply unplug and plug the male terminal into the female and now you will have no more park brake revlimiter. Now is a goood time to replace clutch perch with an aftermarket type, looks a lot cleaner.

Default Raptor question???

i dont know what your doing messing with resistors or other junk like that. Its either 1 of 2 problems. Parking brake switch(chse the wire off teh perch down behing the left head light...unplug it) or 2 its the reverse limiter, you have a bad ground(located left foot peg next to the front sprocket..THE PLUG CONNECTOR. take it off clean it out)
