HID lights

Whos got em on their quads? Got pics?
Im interested in getting a set of Hella Rallye 4000 HID lights for my 700R. A friend of mine had a set on his Banshee which I rode and was very impressed with the illumination. These are the big *** 9" diameter lights mind you.
I have fabrication abilities and knowledge to install them...just looking for input on someone who already has this setup, and or if you found a better price than $495ea online.

hey guys this topic interest me alot. I am thinking of going hid but have questions you all can answer seeing how you have experienced them. Could you please tell me is the system water proof and is the lamp life long even thou riding abuse is high? Also what is wattage rating and does it strain charging system? Your replys are greatly apprecated. thanks///

Long story short....I have Hella 4000 Compact lights on my quad. They are around 6' diameter. I had to custom make the mounts for the lights and the ballasts. I also had to chop the front fenders off, but it looks better that way.
I got one word......daylight!!!!

The lights were $490ea. I spent a few dollars on some little tabs and .25' hardware. I did the welding, fabrication and wiring. That cost 2 nights after hard days at work, and a few beers.
Ill take some pics this weekend in Glamis and post for the world to drool.

For our motorcycles we're getting them from a place called HIDonline, or HID online (can't remember which but your browser will find it) and I think its less than $200 to convert both headlights over to HID. At least thats what it is for cars and bikes. They claim to have them for everything, so maybe they have units for quads. I hav'nt checked cause I rarely am out after dark on mine, and when I am the stock lights are fine. I can imagine how great they would be for you late night guys though. The trick is to go with less than 5000 on the number of the units......if you go over 5000 the color of the light starts turning more towards the blue spectrum. I guess the 4300 units are about the whitest there are.
